Did you know olive oil has been a health and beauty potion for over 4000 years?

It’s common knowledge that olive oil beautifies the body from the inside out, but this “liquid gold” is also nature’s secret for instant beauty enhancement. Always try to use extra virgin olive oil whenever possible since it is the purest form.

Cleopatra would be proud:

~Add a few teaspoons of olive oil to a bottle of conditioner to provide added moisture. Shake bottle well before each use to blend contents.

~Add up to 1/4 cup olive oil with a few drops of lavender essential oils to bath water or foot soak.

~Apply olive oil to dry hair generously and leave in overnight. Shampoo out thoroughly in the morning, hair will be silky and shiny.

~Warm olive oil in microwave and apply to dry, cracked cuticles to heal them naturally.

~Apply olive oil directly to dry patches on face and body; perfect for those who suffer from eczema.

Leave a comment and let us know how you use olive oil to enhance your beauty!

Pocket Full of Pretty

Yves Rocher’s new Fard Pocket shadow in Bleu Mystic comes packaged in the cutest, little decorative case ever. I think I’m ALMOST more enamored with the case than the shadow itself! This shimmery little beauty from France is a blue-green hue which is fully pigmented.

One swipe of Bleu Mystic over lids and the hidden silver shimmer appears. This shadow lasted well when applied wet and without any type of base. The glossy cardboard package has a see -through flip-up lid, which stays shut with the help of magnets. Ces’t Moi!

Yves Rocher’s new Fard Pocket shadow in Bleu Mystic is currently on sale for $5 and is available in 2 other shimmery shades.

The She Space has long been a favorite company of mine since I discovered them a few years back at a beauty trade show. The pigments offered by Heather, the company’s founder, are some of the best in the biz. If bold colors are your forte, then look no further.

The She Space’s founder Heather, took a moment to listen to a customer’s story about her son and thus, Colors For a Cause was born. A portion of sales from the pigment duo shown above, go to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The colors in this duo were made especially for a brave boy named Chris.

Please take a moment to read about Chris and his fight. You can also read more about the pigments in this duo and why Heather chose the names to honor Chris.

Colors For a Cause

The colors in this duo, Live in Color(left) and Happy Birthday Chris (right), can be purchased for $9.00 for the two. $3.00 of each sale will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know oily skin still needs moisture?

Most people actually dehydrate the skin when trying to combat oiliness. This starts a vicious cycle because facial skin will over-compensate by producing more oil. This leads to breakouts and clogged pores.

If you suffer from oily skin only, choose products that state “oil-free” in the packaging and use product once a day or every other day. If you are prone to breakouts choose oil- free products or products that contain salicylic acid. This acid will help to gently exfoliate the top layer of skin on a daily basis. Exfoliation helps to keep the oil levels balanced.

Listed below are products appropriate for A.M. or P.M use.

~Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer
~Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion
~Neutrogena Oil-Free Fresh Moisture
~Clean & Clear Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer
~Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer
