THE SAME 5 QUESTIONS

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Since I love finding out about fellow beauty blogger’s rituals, I thought it would only be fitting that I reveal a little about myself. So, get to know more about me, Toma, your Makeup Masala blogger…

MM: Your purse is stolen. What beauty item will you replace first?

TOMA: Without a doubt it would be my Avon Glazewear gloss in Teddy Bear. This is ALWAYS in my purse no matter what the color of the day is. I can reach for this neutral brown anytime, because it never clashes with my love of bright eyeshadows. This gloss is pigmented like a lipstick and stays on with minimal touch-ups.

MM: What high-end beauty product are you saving your pennies for?

TOMA: I’m really craving Besame Lipstick in Red Velvet. I go to the site all the time, add it to my shopping cart and then freeze at checkout! I feel so guilty buying an $18 lipstick! But I know it will be rolling around in my purse soon, once I get up the nerve to hit “submit order”!

MM: What one hair product can you not live without?

TOMA: My hair would not be sane without Aussie Volumizing Gel. This holds my long curls perfectly all day, no matter what the weather. This high-hold gel leaves my hair shiny and smells fruity-good!

MM: What color polish is on your toes right now?

TOMA: So glad I just painted them recently so I can answer this truthfully! I’m wearing Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in Ice Coffee. This rosy-brown polish has a touch of gold shimmer that really looks good against tanned skin. If there is one beauty area I need improvement on, it’s this! I am so bad about keeping polish on toes in the winter. Summer, well that’s different because no one wants to see crusty toes sticking out of cute sandals!

MM: What was your inspiration to blog?

TOMA: Anyone who knows me will tell you I love to talk ALOT! I really get riled up talking about cosmetics and the deals that I find. Last week the UPS guy at work asked me to recommend a perfume for his mom’s birthday. This was while he was dropping off my recent Urban Apothecary order! Experiences like this made me realize that I have a lot of beauty advice that other people might benefit from. So I hope you enjoy Makeup Masala!

Urban Love

Thanks to posts by Christiana, I’ve now become an Urban Apothecary junkie. This company became one of my top favorites with the first order. Their Pro Pigments boast some of the boldest color around and the wear is phenomenal. This is true love baby!

Another fave of mine is the Micro Glitter line. The color payoff is unbelievable with these glitters. Perfect as a liner or for glamming up hair and body. Micro Glitters can be mixed with Pro Pigments for your own unique style.

Pro Piments are a beauty bargain at $6.75 for a huge 5 gram jar. Micro Glitters are a steal at $5.75 for 3 full grams.
