HIDDEN GEMS

Left to right: Reckless, Crazed, Frenzied

Wet ‘N Wild is at it again with a new limited edition lip gloss!  Speed Gloss gives lips a jolt with its minty tingle and does double-duty as a breath freshener.  The shades go on sheer and leave just a hint of sparkle.  I found the three shown above at Walgreen’s and the new display was already half empty.  Grab ‘em before they’re gone!

Wet ‘N Wild Speed Gloss retails for $4 or less at most locations.

Mak Attack

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Yes, the title of this post is correct.  The name of these palettes is “MAK”.  Now, I don’t know if the intent of this company was to play off of the name of that famous makeup company we all know and love, but these little beauties are a must-buy.  And the best part?  They only cost me $1.99!

I purchased these palettes at a local Asian beauty supply store and they’re a rare find indeed.  The texture of these palettes is as soft as butter and they are DEEPLY pigmented.  Each color is rich and range from shimmery to full-on metallic.  Each case comes with a decent sponge applicator and a wide mirror for on-the-go application.

For those readers interested (including international), I am planning on obtaining a limited amount of these palettes for sale within the next few weeks.  They are available in 4 or 5 different color combos.  They will cost $3 (to cover shipping and Paypal fee) and I can provide swatches also.  Just leave a comment and let me know if you would like to purchase and I’ll email you when they are for sale!

Shrinkle Love

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

If you haven’t heard of Shrinkle yet, then it’s time for an introduction.  This hot chick has her own clothing line and is now selling Kryolan Cosmetics in her eBay storeKryolan is the leader in professional, theatrical makeup and the pigment quality of their products is unprecedented.

Shrinkle is offering Kryolan at an unbelievable value and her customer service is THE best I’ve experienced on eBay so far.  Not only does she ship extremely fast, she also keeps you updated with the status of your order during processing.  When looking at the Kryolan eye dusts, be sure to scroll down to see great pics of Shrinkle and friends modeling the colors.  While you’re there, check out her awesome false eyelashes too!

THE SAME 5 QUESTIONS

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I’m sure most of you know the feeling of serious product-craving after viewing certain blogger’s sites.  Thanks to Kelly from Vampy Varnish, I actually had to start a wish list to keep track of all the great polishes I must have!  Kelly provides some of the best, true-to-life nail polish photos, which is no easy feat.  Get to know more about Kelly, one of my favorite beauty bloggers…

MM: Your purse is stolen. What beauty item will you replace first?

KELLY: I only keep 2 beauty items in my purse on a day to day basis. I always have my MAC powder compact and a lip gloss. Depending on the lip gloss (my current fav is Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss) I would probably replace it first!

MM: What high-end beauty product are you saving your pennies for?

KELLY: Well individually they are not high end, but I want almost the entire MAC Blonde, Brunette & Redhead collections coming out this week! Ouch.

MM: What one hair product can you not live without?

KELLY: I need hairspray every single day, I cannot live without it. I usually use John Frieda for Blondes. If my bangs hang down in my eyes I go crazy, so I need a spritz to keep them in line.

MM: What color polish is on your toes right now?

KELLY: Chanel Or De Russie

MM: What was your inspiration to blog?

KELLY: I was looking for nail polish reviews and came across The Polish Addict, All Lacquered Up and Scrangie’s blogs and thought, WOW this is so cool, I want to do this too! Another reason is that I love writing (I have a degree in English which I don’t get to use at work) and photography so this is my chance to combine all these things in one place!

Thank you Kelly!

I ♥ New York

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Carolyn New York nail polishes appeared to me one day out of the blue and it was love at first sight.  Frankie Joins The Navy was the first shade I tried in this line, after looking high and low for the perfect dark teal.  The longevity of these polishes is beyond unbelievable and I experienced no chipping for more than 4 days after applying.

This polish line is filled with brilliant and unique shades, all of which are completely wearable.  When combined with the Rehydrating Base Coat and Quick Dry Top Coat, the color payoff is rich and vibrant.  The infamous Scrangie has a few swatches which show just how amazing these polishes are.
