HIDDEN GEMS

Although I love just about every fragrance in the Bodycology line, the Coconut Lime is my all-time favorite.  The Foaming Bath and Shower Gel fills the bathroom with a light tropical scent and takes your senses on a mini-getaway.  Its high-lather formula refreshes and moisturizes the skin, leaving a heavenly scent behind.  The shower gel is just one of 9 luscious products available in the Coconut Lime scent.

Bodycology’s Foaming Bath and Shower Gel retails for $5 or less at most locations.

Ice, Ice, Baby

Pure Ice nail polish offers some of the most unique shades, at an inexpensive price.  For under $2, these polishes give you the chance to bring out your wild side with bright and bold shades.  The line does offer a few tame shades, for those who prefer to be a little more demure.  The shade shown above, Busted, is one of my favorites and it looks great on fingers or toes.  I purchase Pure Ice at my local Walmart, but some of you may be able to find them at local drugstores.

True Colors

Keeping your new hair color fresh and vibrant isn’t an easy task as some of you may know.  I have the hardest time keeping reds from fading.  After two weeks or so, the color looses its luster.  L’Oreal’s new EverPure line pampers your new hue with 100% vegan ingredients.  This line is free of the main ingredient in other shampoos, sulfate, which strips color and moisture from hair.  Keeping moisture in the hair is a must for maintaining vibrant color.

The shampoo in this line, is the only sulfate-free shampoo I’ve tried that lathers up.  While I know that suds are not essential for clean hair, I still like feeling that those bubbles are washing away the gunk from my hair.  The conditioner has just a touch of mint and is thick enough to coat hair evenly.  It rinses easily from hair and leaves strands silky and tangle-free.  Your hair color is truly an investment, so using the correct products will ensure your hard-earned dollars aren’t washing down the drain!

For winter-abused lips, a swipe of Kiss My Face’s Sheer Organic Shimmer feels like heaven.  This minty balm protects with Shea Butter and vitamins A and E.  The mineral color leaves just a hint of tinted shimmer in 6 flattering shades.  I’m currently using this as a healing base under my lipstick.  It helps lipstick glide on smoothly and gives any shade a boost of shine.

Kiss My Face’s Sheer Organic Shimmer can be found for $5 or less at many locations.

A Rose by Any Other Name

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Sometimes there’s nothing like an old-fashioned remedy.  Rosebud Salve cures it all; chapped lips, cracked cuticles, dry patches, rough knees and elbows.  It also makes an excellent eye treatment for prevention of wrinkles.  For a subtle glow, dab a bit on cheeks and eyelids ( as used by makeup artists).  Any other Rosebud Salve fans out there?  Leave a comment and tell us your favorite way to use this cult favorite.
