Diamond Girl: Part 2

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

So it seems Pink Sith has created a nail-polish-monster, because I am completely obsessed with Diamond Cosmetic’s polishes.  After receiving my first haul, I turned right around and purchased the 5 shown above (all $2 each).  From left to right: Hot Summer Pink, Party Hearty, Dirty & Flirty, Hi Ho Silver and Sparkling Sherry.  For a more detailed description of each shade and to view swatches, don’t forget to click over to Scrangie’s site!

The Awakening

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

We’ve all heard healthy hair begins at the roots, but not many products are geared toward achieving that goal.  John Freida’s Root Awakening line gives hair the boost of health it needs by feeding and stimulating both the roots and tips.  The minty tingle lets you know the products are working and hair is left silky and smooth.  The Nourishing Moisture conditioner has become my favorite in this line.  It leaves my curls frizz-free and bouncy and the strands have unbelievable shine.  My local Walgreens has this line on sale at least once a month and the coupon section of the paper usually has coupons for $3 off.  Stock up when you can!

When Beauty “Don’ts” Are a “Do”

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Call the Beauty Police, because I’m about to reveal my biggest makeup crime.  I love lips heavily lined with just a touch of gloss.  I know, this look made popular in the 80′s, is the stuff makeup-nightmares are made of, but for some reason I love, love, love it!  So I’m curious, which beauty “no-no” can you just not resist?

Left to right: Oh Tiff, Royal Fool’s Gold, Don’t Teal My Heart Away, Decadence

Thanks to Pink Sith, I’ve discovered a polish line that has the most gorgeous, affordable colors.  Diamond Cosmetics offers polishes for a mere $2.00-$2.50!  I recently purchased the four shown above ($2 each) and the colors are rich and downright beautiful.  I’ll be trying out my polishes this weekend, but you can view swatches courtesy of Scrangie!

One of the Elite

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

The Jr. Masalas and I have gone through a multitude of flat irons in the quest to straighten our curly locks.  We’ve tried the cheap ones and granted they do work well for awhile, but soon the heating factor starts to go, leaving the hair frizzy and unhealthy-looking.

The Hana Elite has worked nothing short of miracles for our hard-to-straighten hair.  The feature I am most impressed with is its ability to remain the same temperature with repeated use.  This makes the straightening process much faster, since we don’t have to wait for the iron to reheat.  This flat iron smooths strands with 100% solid ceramic plates, a big improvement from the “gold” plated irons we’re used to.  My oldest teen hates a lot of product in her hair and the Hana Elite left her hair shiny and smooth without the need for heavy serums.  My hair normally starts to curl in humidity, but I experienced no reversion after using the iron.  The Hana Elite can currently be found at Misikko along with 11 other Hana flat irons.

Kissable Couture Giveaway!

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Kissable Couture really knows how to pamper a lady and their 3 new lip shades will have you feeling like a chic princess!  The Le Fleur Collection envelops lips in a whisper of pink and adds an airy shimmer to your pout.  My favorite (shown below) of the collection is Hyacinth, which has become my new summer gloss.  I love to pair it with a brown lipliner for a sheer, almost nude look. If the two-tone hue of these glosses sets your heart aflutter, then the stunning packing will surely have you weak in the knees!  Each gloss is enclosed in a black gift box with a sexy, satin ribbon tied around.  Isn’t it time you spoiled and pampered yourself pretty?

Kissable Couture would like to pamper Makeup Masala readers by offering 45% off their sensuous glosses! Just enter code MASALA at checkout.  Also, enter by July 15th for a chance to win the full Le Fluer Collection.  Enter your information on the contact form at the Kissable Couture website and make sure to put “Makeup Masala” on the subject line.  Contest open to readers from the U.S. and Canada.
