oh gosh...trying them on straight out of the package...
brings back horrible memories *shudders*
I bought one from an online etailer...and...
it broke me out into a HUGE range on my hand...the one that I swiped on, to test its 'softness'.
After that, I do my best to stay away from brushes testing until AFTER I give them a good cleaning...
otherwise baby wipes (to get rid of colouring), and alcohol sanitizer thing (or maybe it isn't alcohol. dunno) to sanitize it every few days.

I wash my brush right after I take it out of the package. I don't know how clean they are... hehe~ After they are dry and I use them, I clean in daily basis with a Kleenex. They get a weekly or bi-weekly thorough wash. I'm lazy!... lol~ :X

When I buy a new brush I usually wash it straight away. I spot clean my brushes with makeup remover/baby wipes or brush cleaner after every use and I wash them with shampoo about once a week.

When I buy a new brush, it depends whether I was it right away or not... I definitely wash it if I think it smells weird (which some brushes do when they are new) or if it seems that the bristles have a lot of residual dye in them (for example, some inexpensive brushes with black bristles are often dyed to make sure the hairs are that deep black shiny color).

As for my usual brushes, I spot clean them with a spray-on brush cleaner I make myself each night before bed if they were used that day... and they get a full shampoo bath every 1-2 months. This keeps the bacteria from building up and really helps keep breakouts away :)

I wash my brushes right away! I wash my face brushes, liner brushes, e/s brushes with visible staining from dark e/s, everyday (those that I use) then the rest of the eye brushes i wash twice a month. However I spot clean then using brush cleaner once a week. I also use conditioner once a month for eyebrushes and twice a month for face brushes
