Diamond Cosmetics: Soak Up The Sun

Soak Up The Sun puts me in mind of sandy beaches, so the name is perfect! This khaki-gold shimmers and glistens in the sun and was perfect in 2 coats. I think I’m going with this one for my manicure today.

Soak Up The Sun puts me in mind of sandy beaches, so the name is perfect! This khaki-gold shimmers and glistens in the sun and was perfect in 2 coats. I think I’m going with this one for my manicure today.

This week, I’ll be reviewing the new Caribbean Collection from Diamond Cosmetics, which is also the Makeup Masala giveaway for this month!
I’m kicking things off with the most stunning polish of the collection, Deep Blue Sea. The pigment of this shade is so unbelievably rich and bright. More of a royal blue, it shimmers with the aid of very fine green-gold glitter. 2 coats are shown above and once dry, was very smooth to the touch and shiny (no top coat used). My favorite of the collection.

Disorder is another favorite from the Color Addict line. The color can best be described as a murky, navy-grey (just pretend that makes sense, please). Application is flawless, as is the same with all polishes in this line and 2 coats are shown above. The added gold shimmer gives this polish a little kick and keeps it from being just the same old boring grey. Enjoy your Sunday!

I’ve yet to be disappointed by even a single polish from the Color Addict line. These shades are so rich in color and apply with absolutely no issues. Habit, is a grape-purple with ribbons of gold throughout the bottle. The camera picked up bits of red among the gold shimmer, which adds even more excitement to this polish. Sadly, this polish will never make it to my stash as most of my purple polishes are passed on to the oldest Jr. Masala, who has a very unnatural obsession with the color purple. I hope she enjoys this one!

This is a case where the name definitely fits the polish. Frozen Solid, from the newly revamped Hard As Nails line, is a cool, light blue with a foil-shimmer finish. Super sheer, it took 3 coats to achieve the look above. I must say, I truly get long wear with the new Hard As Nails line. This manicure lasted almost a week, a miracle for me, as I’ve mentioned before I am really rough on my hands. It’s almost the weekend and I’ll be heading to Tennessee for a week-long vacation! Any summer vacation plans in the works for you?

Sally Hansen ”Grey Area”

Not too sure how I feel about this one, but showing it anyway! In a way, it reminds me of ‘cookies and cream’, but to me, the white made the darker polish slightly murky-looking in spots. Ah well, it’s still fun to experiment with water marbling!

Under 18 is slightly different than the average red polish. More of a brick-red with orange undertones, this shade is a perfect one for summer and will match well with any skin tone. The finish can best be described as a metallic-shimmer and 2 coats were used above. I’d love to know where Sinful Colors comes up with their polish names. Nothing about this shade screams “under 18″ to me, as my teens would never resort to wearing “old lady” shades. Do you classify certain shades with age? Do share!
